Dinners for Life diabetes friendly menu well received by RDs at ADA FNCE in Denver

October 26, 2009

Tuesday, October 20, 2009 – the final day of the American Dietetic Association’s Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo in Denver

After speaking to literally hundreds of nutrition professionals from across the United States we leave Denver exhausted but excited about the relationships formed between Dream Dinners/Dinners for Life and RDs sharing the common goal of improving the nutritional quality of dinner across the country. Individual RDs representing colleges, universities and major medical centers from across the United States, as well as RDs from government, public health, industry and hospital medical centers were all part of the mix – a testament to the need to provide solutions to help Americans eat healthier dinners at home.

There was tremendous excitement about our new division, Dinners for Life, and the diabetes friendly menu that is launching this November to coincide with American Diabetes Month. Many RDs expressed appreciation of how Dream Dinners/Dinners for Life requires education and certification for our store owners to retail the diabetes menu stating that it gave them piece of mind knowing that our owners would complement the education they provided their patients with diabetes. Additionally, RDs loved the fact that Dinners for Life diabetes friendly menu is designed to address all of the nutritional concerns of individuals with diabetes; not just carbohydrates but also sodium, saturated fat and cholesterol. RDs shared that it is really tough for their patients to consider all these factors at once when deciding what to eat for dinner. Having a solution such as Dinners for Life to offer their patients is huge.

All of us at Dream Dinners/Dinners for Life are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with so many dedicated nutrition professionals to help make a difference in people’s lives, improving their health, reducing complications, and helping them reach their health goals, one dinner at a time.

We have helped many people lose weight, improve blood glucose and blood pressure, and/or simply gain a sense of accomplishment getting dinner on the table – a goal so difficult to attain in the past. We welcome hearing how Dream Dinners (and soon Dinners for Life) helps people achieve their health goals. Share your success stories with us on Facebook.
